Article n°1:

“Erasmus plus is a program sponsored by Europe and is intended for educational institutions at all levels of education. Its purpose is to promote cooperation between educational institutions, thus giving the opportunity to those who wish to come in contact with schools in other countries and to benefit from it on linguistic, cultural and educational terms.

This year and the next school year, the first Lappeio High School of Naoussa participates along with four other European schools in such a program entitled “I, you, we, Mediterranean Citizens”. The school that coordinates the program is EREA Haute de Provence located in Bevons, France, while the other three schools participating in the program are the Srednja skola of Hvar Croatia, the Santos Isasa of Montoro, Spain and the 11o Istituto Comprensivo «Archia» of Syracuse, Italy.

So within this context our city hosted during the week of Carnival the French architect Olivier Bedu, one of the most creative artists of MUCEM, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations in Marseille, which has undertaken to create a composition inspired by five cities, schools which for two years will cooperate in the implementation of this program. His work will be on display for a month in Marseille, at the MUCEM museum, and then for a year at the coordinating school, EREA de Haute Provence in Bevons.
Before coming to Naoussa Olivier Bedu visited the schools in Hvar and Syracuse.

During the five days that Olivier Bedu stayed in Naoussa he met with the students of our school participating in the program, walked with them in the streets and neighborhoods of our city, asked them to talk about their interests, to show the parts where they hang out and the neighborhoods they live. He discussed with them mainly in English but also in French, giving them the opportunity to practice the foreign languages which they learn at school, and giving them in this way great satisfaction.

He also had the opportunity to speak with the Mayor of Naoussa, to attend the local custom of the Carnival called “Boules” and to live the festive atmosphere which is prevalent these days in our city. He also visited the School of Aristotle, the royal tombs at Vergina and made a short walk in Veria. He left thrilled by the hospitality he encountered in Greece. The next and last visit will be at the school of Montoro, Spain.”
